What I love most about being a therapist is the possibility. I am passionate about helping others discover their strengths and feel more connected as they overcome life's challenges. I firmly believe that in the center of all the messiness, confusion and pain is peace, confidence, and strength. I pull from multiple therapeutic modalities in order to help you learn how to cope with painful emotions, communicate more truly with your loved ones, and feel like yourself.
Connecting with others is central to how I work; this is inspired by my education and professional experience as well as my human interactions as parent, spouse, sibling and friend. When you work with me you will feel understood and less alone. When you feel connected you can feel safe. When you feel safe, you can explore and find hope. My goal is to partner with individuals and families struggling with increasingly complex dilemmas to steer them to a more manageable course.
You can learn so much about yourself when you have a safe, confidential and unbiased place to talk and play. Therapy can be a place where you can express thoughts and feelings that tend to stay bottled up. Once these thoughts and feelings are expressed and examined, therapy becomes a safe place to rehearse new ways of being. New ways to manage stress, new ways to relate to your loved ones, new ways to see yourself. It becomes possible to find strengths that were hidden underneath your worries, to nurture creative ways of solving life's struggles. While we can't erase all the struggles in life or undo pains of our past, together we can find new ways to sit with these realities so that life feels a little easier.
